About the Epson CW-C4000:
With the introduction of the Epson ColorWorks CW-C4000, Epson is taking a new step in easy color label printing in 2022.
The Epson CW-C4000 is a desktop color label printer with unprecedented functionality. With this printer, Epson leaves nothing to chance and has managed to pack an incredible amount into a compact printer. For example, the printer is equipped with a color display for easy and quick operation. Nevertheless, the printer is almost identical to the Epson TM-C3500 in appearance and size.
The prints can be made with a resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. This, in combination with the color management and the use of optional ICC profiling, provides unprecedented possibilities. However, a desktop printer does sacrifice speed compared to the Epson Colorworks CW-C6000 series, for example. Although the maximum speed of 100 mm per second is still acceptable, the speed at the highest quality at 8 mm per second is very low. The Epson CW-C4000 is therefore mainly for target groups who are not eager for very large numbers of labels, but for a few labels at a time, or simply have the time to print a few hundred labels.
With the introduction, Epson has again listened carefully to the market and made some adjustments compared to previous ColorWorks models. The Epson CW-C4000, like many other models, is equipped with an automatic cutting blade, but for the first time it is easy to replace it yourself with the CW-C4000. The Epson CW-C4000 can also be equipped with a special WiFi dongle to wirelessly place the printer in the network.
The Epson CW-C4000 is also the first Epson ColorWorks color label printer to be equipped with an ESC label. This means that the printer "understands" the thermal label printer language ZPL II. As a result, the Epson CW-C4000 can easily replace existing thermal label printers that are controlled via ZPL without having to make any adjustments in the control. However, ZPL only contains black and white information, so some adjustments will still have to be made to add color, but it is not necessary to do this beforehand, it can be adjusted bit by bit during use.
The integrated ESC label is not the only thing that makes the integration of this printer easy. The Epson CW-C4000 is also fully supported by SAP integration and it is equipped with Windows, MAC and Linux drivers. Options are even offered for control via Android and iOS via an available SDK.
