Following the Best Of Events 2019 (BOE19) in Dortmund, “High Profile Events” posted a report about the visitor badges on their website Events.nl. The visitor’s badges were printed in color during this event.
Both Ivar van der Molen (Smart2B) and Norman Adams (FastLane GMBH) were given the floor. In this article, author Saskia Leeuwis of High Profile Events describes exactly what the advantages of live color printing of visitor badges are based on this beautiful practical example.
BOE19 prints visitor badges live and in color
Those who visited the Best of Events (BOE) event fair on January 16 and 17 were in good company. These days around 11,000 visitors passed the entrance to the Westfalenhallen, looking for inspiration in the event industry. Fortunately, there was no question of a long wait.FastLane was responsible for registration and access control for theBOE 2019and the BrandExfestival that took place on January 15. With 14 access desks where the visitor badges were printed live and in color, they turned out to be thanks to their supplier Smart2BWell prepared.
A hostess distributed the flow of people across the different counters at busy times. Exhibitors, speakers and visitors; they could all go to any counter. In ten seconds the visitor data was scanned on the invitation, the data loaded and the badge printed. That went well.
Quick walk through at the entrance
Smart2B’s Ivar van der Molen explains what you need for that: “An Epson TM-C3500 inkjet label printer and blank butterfly badges. This ExpoBadge is immediately dry after printing and can therefore be used immediately. ”
Badgevertising
The possibilities of design on the butterfly badges increases the possibilities for visitors and exhibitors. “With the help of color marking on the badge, a distinction can easily be made between visitors, exhibitors and speakers. The largest ExpoBadge format offers sufficient space for the event program. This program can of course vary per person, “says Ivar. “You can also choose to use the extra space on the badge for advertisements, which we call bad grants. You can even personalize these advertisements based on the participant profile. This increases the advertising value per badge enormously. ”
The benefits in practice during BOE19
Norman Adam, Project Manager at FastLane explains how the BOE has applied these benefits: “The great flexibility and speed of the Epson TM-C3500 in combination with the ExpoBadges were one of the main arguments for BOE management choose our OnSite system. With one system for two events, BOE and BrandEx, we were able to print live badges and also provide them with personalized information and logos, depending on the type of participant. ”
“Both the organizer and the exhibitors have rated our badge service very positively. We printed the exhibitors’ logos live on the visitor badges, based on the exhibitor code with which the visitors had registered for an admission ticket. In terms of marketing, this really adds value to exhibitors, “says a proud Norman.
“For the largest exhibitor Fiylo, we provided a separate registration desk. For visitors who registered via the Fiylo invitation code, we printed an exclusive badge with two extra vouchers. So we not only combined different designs and personalized content, but also different badge formats for one event, “Norman concludes.
No Waste
Another important advantage of printing the ExpoBadges live: you only use what you need. Unlike with pre-printed badges and labels, with the ExpoBadges you only print what you need. “You always order more than necessary from pre-printed badges to prevent a shortage. After the event you throw away what you have left. You can use the blank ExpoBadges again for your next event, “Ivar explains.
For small and large runs
Kiki Hagethorn fromGroenhof Congresorganisatie organizes congresses for 100 to 750 visitors. This year she will also start printing the ExpoBadges live. With the full color Epson label printer it no longer matters whether you have an event for 10 or 10,000 visitors. The print speed and the quality of your badges are always the same. You always have your costs ready and after the event, you pack your badges and printer and you can continue to your next event. Without surpluses in the container.
