Assettag materials

The choice of material for asset tags is often more difficult than previously thought.
Certainly if different properties are requested that cannot be combined in a single product. you some general information about the different assettag materials and some tips to make the right choice.
Of course we are always ready for advice.

WHICH MATERIAL FITS BEST IN APPLICATION

Before a correct choice can be made, it is important to first have a clear view of a number of things. This includes the application, anti-fraud or non-fraud, type of equipment and substrate (scratch resistance is important for mobile equipment), and the environment where the equipment will be located.
To use various materials from our range with our own < To be able to assess em> look and feel we will send a sample set free of charge upon request.

FEATURES OF THE ASSETTAGS:

We have assessed the materials for several important properties to facilitate the selection of the right material.

ASSET TAGS ON SMOOTH AND STRUCTURED SUBSTRATES.

An important factor in the adhesion of the asset tags is the type of substrate. For example, a number of materials are suitable for smooth surfaces, but not suitable for surfaces with a structure. To give an example, the Xtremetag can be used well on concrete and various other stone substrates. For good adhesion, the substrate must first be thoroughly cleaned with, for example, alcohol. When testing the sample materials, it is important to know that the adhesion is approximately 80% after 24 hours and approximately 90% after 48 hours.

SCANABILITY OF THE BAR CODE

If you use asset tags with a barcode, good scannability is important for fast and error-free handling. The silver metallic has a nice finish because of the metallic but the scanning becomes more critical due to its reflective properties. In addition, with this material the contrast is less great between the silver gray of the substrate and the black barcode.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is especially important for mobile devices. Think, for example, of a smartphone or iPad that is fully in the hand and slides over the table or desk, despite this intensive use, the tag must remain seated, neat and readable. Sustainability is also desirable for industrial or applications where scratches and wear are lurking. For such applications, a laminated product is advisable to prevent scratches and wear.

FRAUD DISAPPOINTING

An asset tag with an anti-fraud or deterrent property may be the most difficult kind. Which form of fraud should be prevented?
VOID material is mainly used to detect fraud by showing that the tag has been (partially) removed and the device has been opened, for example .
Destructible material has a self-destructive property, when an attempt is made to remove the label, it falls apart like an eggshell and can therefore NEVER be transferred in its entirety to another device.

Important to know: they still have to invent asset tags that you can stick on but cannot delete!

OUR MOST UNIVERSAL MATERIAL

These laminated tags have no anti-fraud properties.
The laminate ensures a long life of print on the tag.

The glue is so strong and adheres to all kinds of different surfaces.
Similarly to wood and concrete.

SELF-DESTROYING ASSETTAG

Destructible asset tags, also called self-destructing, are labels with anti-fraud properties.
When attempting to remove the label, it will destroy itself by falling apart an eggshell.
Destructible asset tags are difficult to remove and cannot be transferred to prevent fraud.

VISUAL TRACKS IN REMOVAL

These asset tags leave a visual pattern on both the asset tag and the surface after removal. The pattern can be removed from the surface but the label is permanently damaged. The silver-metallic matte finish has a luxurious appearance.

VERY DIFFICULT REMOVABLE

Engraved asset tags are made of 1.6 mm thick plastic.
Specified text and / or logo are engraved into the tag by laser technology.
The tags are provided with very strong 3M adhesive that is suitable for flat surfaces.
The tags are UV, water and chemical resistant and have an extremely long service life.
A very high quality solution.

Another possibility is to directly mark the IT equipment.
We can achieve this in two different ways.
By means of laser techniques or with a UV print. and disadvantages and possibilities in terms of format.
